St. George Teacher Training Institute Pulpally, a self financing institution run by the Minority community of the Catholic Diocese of Bathery,was established in the 2004 and the same was recognized by the NCTE as per order No. F.KL/ELE/N/94/SRO/NCTE/2004-2005/4577.dt 05/07/04.

It is the brain child of the farsighted visionary  His Excellency  Most Rev. Dr. Joseph mar Thomas the Bishop of the Malankara Catholic Diocese of Bathery. The Malankara Catholic Church especially the Diocese of Bathery mainly focuses on the development of the society through its educational policies. Keeping this mission in mind the Diocese has started many schools and colleges in different parts of the Diocese. The Diocese owns and manages one first grade Arts and Science College, two B.Ed. Colleges, One Teacher Training Institute, One Junior College, 3 Industrial Training Institutes and a number of primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools. St.George Teacher Training Institute is one of the institutions among them. All these Institutions are managed by the Corporate Educational Agency of the Catholic Diocese of Bathery.
